Our Hiring Process

We take the recruiting process very seriously. If we hire, we hire the best, or we don't hire at all. Insurance Calculator Inc. is headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Canada but we provide service coverage throughout the United States. The majority of the business is Internet-based. We have staff working in Toronto as well as many different cities within the United States. For international applicants, we will provide coverage on flight expenses for interviews. A typical candidate will go through the following steps:

Step 1. Submitting an Application - For every employment opportunity, your application package must include a resume and a cover-letter explaining your qualifications to the requirements we ask for.

Step 2. Online Employment Assessment - Once when we accept your application, you will be asked to complete a series of questions online in a fixed amount of time. These questions are related to attitude, working habits, critical decision making, and team work.

Step 3. Phone Interview - Once when you pass the Online Employment Assessment, our hiring staff will call you for a quick chat on the phone. We understand that communication is a fundamental factor in a team work environment. Oral communication skills will be examined during the phone interview.

Step 4. Series of In-Person Interviews - Selected candidates after phone interviews will be asked to attend up to 3 in-person interviews. The first interview will be conducted to test the qualifications of the candidate with respect to the tasks required by the employment opportunity. The second and third interviews will be conducted by the direct supervisor or team lead, and/or the manager of the department of the employment opportunity.

Oversees the web development of InsuranceCalculator.net and its partner web properties. Candidate must have expert knowledge and working experience in: PHP 5, MySQL Design and Optimization, JQuery, HTML/CSS (Cross Browser Compatible), Mobile Web Technology, Object-Oriented Programming, and Java. The candidate must have a post-secondary degree in Computer Science and 5 years of working experience in web development.

Candidate must have expert knowledge and working experience in: Search Engine Optimization for Google/Yahoo/Bing, Media Buys PPC/PPV, Social Media Marketing Facebook/Twitter/RenRen/Weibo. The candidate must have a post-secondary degree in Marketing or Advertising and 5 years of working experience in Online Marketing.
