The auto insurance industry in each state in the United States is unique. Insurance Calculator Inc. has been providing various types of auto insurance coverage to consumers in every state throughout the nation. In addition to providing up-to-date information and competitive quotes for every state, we also have a team of researchers studying the auto insurance in each state.

The affordability on auto insurance depends on 2 major factors - the average household income and the average cost on auto insurance. Therefore, with these 2 values obtained through extensive research and data analysis, we were able to calculate the Premium to Income Ratio (PI Ratio) in each state that will reflect the affordability on auto insurance in the corresponding state.

We have prepared a table displaying the average household income, average auto insurance premium, and the premium to income ratio for all of the states in the United States, sorted by the PI ratio from the highest to the lowest.
